Collection & storage of blood spots on absorbent paper for subsequent screening for phenylketonuria

(PKU).

Storage & life time

36 month in dry, room temperature.

Sample validity

30 days validity if stored in room temperature; long term preservation if -80°C stored.

Customized Ready Use Kit

1. Capillary Blood collection supplies: sterile retractable lancet with tip approximately 2 mm or sterile

retractable incision device, alcohol swab, sterile gauze, soft cloth and sharps disposal container.

2. Personal protective equipment: Gloves and other personal protective equipment as required to

provide protection from exposure to blood borne pathogens.

3. Mailing envelope with prepaid AWB: For transport of specimens.

4.Impermeable bag and desiccant: (Where required by local regulations) for transport of specimens.
