iClean® Viral Transport System

Class Product news 10
  1. Main Components
    • Sampling Tubes: Typically, they are 10 – milliliter polypropylene plastic tubes with screw – caps, which are convenient for sealing and opening, ensuring the safety and stability of samples.
    • Sampling Swabs: There are medical – grade nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal nylon – flocked swabs. The material of such swabs can effectively collect samples and has good adsorption for sample cells, improving the quality of sample collection.
    • Viral Transport Medium: This is the core part of the system. Its components include salts, antibiotics, and preservatives for viruses, chlamydia, ureaplasma, and mycoplasma, etc., providing a suitable living environment for viruses and ensuring the stability of viruses during transportation.
  2. Characteristic Parameters
    • Volume of the Medium: Usually, it is 3.0 milliliters. This volume can meet the collection and preservation requirements of most samples and also ensure compatibility with the sampling tubes, facilitating transportation and storage.
    • pH Value: The pH value of the medium is between 7.1 and 7.5. This range of acidity and alkalinity is suitable for the survival of viruses and helps to maintain the activity and stability of viruses.
    • Sample Storage Temperature: Samples can be stored at room temperature (2 – 25°C) or low – temperature conditions. Within this temperature range, the viral transport system can effectively maintain the stability of samples, ensuring that samples will not deteriorate or become inactive due to temperature during transportation.
  3. Stability
    • Unused Medium: It can be transported and stored at room temperature (15 – 25°C), with a shelf life of 12 months. This makes the system highly convenient and stable in terms of storage and transportation, meeting the long – term use requirements of laboratories and medical institutions.
    • Collected Samples: Collected samples should be stored and transported at room temperature (2 – 25°C) or low – temperature conditions and can be preserved for up to 48 hours. If longer – term preservation is required, it is recommended to store them frozen at – 70°C, which can effectively extend the sample storage time and provide guarantee for subsequent testing and analysis.
  4. Intended Use: It is mainly used for collecting, preserving, and transporting clinical specimens to testing laboratories. The transport medium, as a non – proliferative transport medium, provides a suitable environment for specimen transportation, ensuring that specimens will not be affected by the external environment and change during transportation, thus guaranteeing the accuracy of test results.
