Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a cause of many cancers in the anogenital andoropharyngeal areas in women and men. The high mortality rate cervical cancer could bereduced through a comprehensive approach that includes prevention, early diagnosis, effective screening and treatment programs.
Our HPV collection kit is to collect cervical specimen for early detection & cervical cancer
screening, including TCT test, Pap smear test, or DNA-based PCR assay. It can be collected
by professionals or self collection at home for privacy.
Main Components
Sampling Swab
Material: Usually made of high-quality medical-grade materials, such as polyester fiber or nylon flocking. These materials have good water absorption and flexibility, can effectively adsorb cell samples, and will not cause damage to the sampling site.
Design: The head of the swab is generally designed to be slender and slightly curved, making it convenient to reach into parts such as the cervical os to collect cells. Its length and thickness are carefully designed. While meeting the sampling requirements, it can ensure the comfort of the person being sampled and reduce the risk of discomfort and potential damage.
Cell Preservation Solution
Composition: It contains components such as buffers, protein stabilizers, and antibiotics. The buffer can maintain the stability of the pH value of the solution and prevent the cells in the sample from being damaged due to environmental changes. The protein stabilizer helps to protect the protein structure in the cells and maintain cell integrity. Antibiotics can inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi that may be mixed in during the sample collection process, avoiding microbial contamination of the sample and interfering with the test results.
Preservation Effect: After the sample is collected, it is placed in a collection tube containing the cell preservation solution. At an appropriate temperature (usually 2-8°C), the cells can maintain the integrity of their morphology and genetic material within a certain period (ranging from several days to several weeks), ensuring the accuracy of the test results.
Sample Collection Tube
Material and Sealing: Generally made of high-quality plastic materials, such as polypropylene, it has good chemical stability and sealing performance. It can prevent sample leakage, avoid polluting the surrounding environment, and ensure the safety of the sample during transportation and storage.
Marking and Compatibility: The collection tube is usually marked with clear scales and relevant markings, which is convenient for medical staff to accurately record sample information and the amount of collection. At the same time, it has good compatibility with the sampling swab and the preservation solution, ensuring the smooth progress of the entire sampling process and reducing sample loss or errors caused by the incompatibility of the equipment.
Other Components: It may also include barcodes and labels for marking the information of the sampled person to prevent confusion; an instruction manual providing detailed operation steps and precautions; a biological safety bag or return mailing bag for the transportation and storage of the sample, ensuring the safety and integrity of the sample during the mailing process.
Advantages
Convenient to Use: The entire sampling process is relatively simple, and even non-professional medical staff can operate it skillfully after appropriate training.
Accurate Sampling: The special design and material selection of the sampling swab can ensure the collection of a sufficient quantity and quality of cell samples. It can reach deep into key parts such as the cervix, effectively collecting epithelial cells containing the HPV virus and reducing the occurrence of false negative results.
Good Safety: The soft material and reasonable design of the sampling swab can minimize the harm to the person being sampled and reduce the pain and discomfort during the sampling process.
Wide Applicability: It is not only suitable for professional sampling in medical institutions but also for scenarios such as home self-examination, making it convenient for people with different needs to conduct HPV testing.
