Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) is a single-stranded RNA virus classified in the family Paramyxoviridae, genus Measles virus. The natural hosts of infection are canines and mustelids, and transmission occurs mainly at the airborne and droplet levels. Diseased dogs are an important source of infection and contaminate the surrounding environment through long-term urinary excretion; dogs of different ages, genders and breeds can be infected. This kit is designed for the detection of canine distemper virus antibody in canine whole blood, serum or plasma.
Reaction Principle
It is made by the principle of colloidal gold immunochromatographic test. After the sample is added to the spiking well, it moves along the chromatographic membrane with the colloidal gold markers, and the detection line shows purple-red color if CDV antibody is present in the sample, and no color reaction is produced if CDV antibody is not present in the sample.
Sample requirements]
This kit is only suitable for testing canine whole blood, serum or plasma samples. Fresh samples should be collected and tested as soon as possible within 1 hour. If the test cannot be performed in time, whole blood, serum or plasma samples can be stored at 2-8℃ for 3 days, and serum or plasma samples can be stored at -20℃ for 1 month. [Test Method
Collect canine whole blood, serum or plasma samples, add the samples to the diluent after collection, tighten the cap and mix upside down. Tear open the aluminum foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card, and put it on a flat, clean countertop. Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μl) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result. Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read, the result is invalid after more than 20 minutes. Note: The above reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30℃, if the temperature is lower than 15℃, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
Interpretation of test results
A negative test result indicates only that there is no antibody to Canine Distemper Virus in the test sample. A positive test result indicates that the sample contains antibodies to Canine Distemper Virus. Invalid test results may be due to a number of reasons and should be retested. Limitations of the Test
This kit can only detect the presence of Canine Distemper Virus antibody in the tested sample. The results of this kit are for clinical reference only and are not to be used as the basis for a definitive diagnosis.
