Cat HIV Antibody Kit Product Description
Feline HIV Antibody Kit is used for the detection of feline HIV antibody in whole blood or serum of cats, for screening and auxiliary diagnosis of feline AIDS infection.
Feline Immunodeficiency Disease (FID) is a viral infectious disease characterized by low immune function, inflammation of the respiratory and digestive systems, dysfunction of the immune system and nervous system as well as susceptibility to secondary infections caused by Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) infection. Because of the biological characteristics of the pathogen and the symptoms of infected cats are similar to those of human AIDS, it is also called feline AIDS.FIV is a lentivirus in the family of Retroviridae, the only member of the feline lentivirus group. The virus particles are spherical or oval, with a rod-shaped or conical capsid, and are released by budding from the cell membrane of infected cells, and the viral genome is a single-stranded, positive-stranded linear RNA dimer.FIV infections are prevalent worldwide, and are more prevalent among middle-aged and elderly cats, and are transmitted among cats mainly through bites, and are strictly host-specific, just like other lentiviruses.
Principle of reaction
The Cat HIV Antibody Kit uses rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of cat HIV antibody in cat whole blood or serum. After dropping the diluted sample into the spiking well, if FIV antibody is present in the sample, it will specifically bind to the colloidal gold-labeled recombinant protein, forming a complex that moves together along the chromatographic membrane and is captured by the FIV antigen encapsulated on the membrane, displaying a burgundy line on the detection line (T). If there is no FIV antibody in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. This C line should be colored regardless of negative or positive results, otherwise the result is judged invalid.
