Canine Parvovirus Antigen test Kit (colloidal gold method)

Intended use]

Canine Parvovirus (CPV) belongs to the family of Parvoviridae, genus Parvovirus. Canine Parvovirus is highly resistant to commonly used disinfectants and can survive in faeces for months to years. CPV is highly contagious and can infect dogs of different ages, genders and breeds, and is especially likely to infect underage puppies. Dogs infected with canine microvirus have a rapid onset of illness and a high mortality rate. Clinical manifestations include vomiting and diarrhoea. This kit is used to detect the antigen of canine microvirus in canine faeces, rectum and vomit.
Principle of reaction

Rapid immunochromatographic assay for the detection of canine microvirus antigen. After the rectal or faecal sample is added to the spiked well, it moves along the chromatographic membrane with the colloidal gold-labelled anti-CPV monoclonal antibody. If CPV antigen is present in the sample, it binds to the antibody on the detection line and appears in burgundy colour. If CPV antigen is not present in the sample, no colour reaction occurs.

【Storage conditions and expiry date

Store at 2-30°C. Valid for 24 months.
【Sample requirements

This kit is only suitable for testing canine fecal, rectal and vomit samples.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If it can not be detected in time, the diluted sample can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
Detection method

Use disposable swabs to collect fecal, rectal and vomit samples from dogs. After collection, the samples should be put into the diluted solution and stirred, stand still for 1min, take out the swabs, tighten the cap and mix upside down.
Tear open the foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card and place it on a flat, clean countertop.
Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μl) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result.
Wait for 10-15 minutes at room temperature to read the test result, the result is invalid after more than 20 minutes.
Note: The above reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30℃, if the temperature is lower than 15℃, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.

Interpretation of test results]

A negative test result indicates that there is no canine microvirus antigen in the test sample. If the corresponding acute symptoms occur, canine microvirus infection cannot be excluded.
A positive test result indicates the presence of canine poliovirus antigen in the sample.
Since canine polio vaccine is usually a weak vaccine, it is possible to show a positive reaction due to a momentary increase of the virus in the body during immunisation, which disappears after 3-10 days after vaccination. Dogs treated with monoclonal antibodies may show false positives for a prolonged period of time because of the production of secondary antibodies against the monoclonal antibodies.
Invalid test results may be due to a variety of reasons and should be retested.
[Limitations of the assay

This kit can only detect the presence or absence of canine microvirus antigen in the sample being tested.
The results of this kit are for clinical reference only and are not to be used as the basis for a definitive diagnosis.

【Precautions
Please read the instructions carefully before the test, the various reagents provided with this product are for this test only.
Expired products or products with broken aluminium foil pouches should not be used.
If the kit is taken out under low temperature storage, it should be opened after returning to room temperature, and the opened test card should be used as soon as possible to avoid moisture, not more than 1 hour.
Avoid touching the spiking holes on the test card and the chromatography strips at the test window.
Post-test waste should be considered as a contaminant and disposed of properly in accordance with local regulations.
