Giardia Antigen Test Kit (GIA-Ag)

Product Description

Giardia antigen kit is used for the detection of Giardia antigen in the faeces of dogs and cats, which is used for the screening and auxiliary diagnosis of Giardia infection in dogs and cats.
Giardiasis is an intestinal disease caused by Giardia (GIA) with diarrhoea as the main symptom, with persistent or intermittent onset. Giardia is a common intestinal parasitic protozoan in dogs and cats, belonging to the flagellar subphylum of the Sarcopod Flagellates, order Bitrichida, genus Giardia, species of Giardia lamblia. Giardia is highly contagious, parasitic in the small intestine of dogs and cats, occasionally seen in the large intestine, is one of the main causes of intractable diarrhoea in dogs and cats, is a zoonotic pathogenic parasite. Giardia flagellates include trophozoites and encapsulated in two phylogenetic stages, which are mainly transmitted through faecal orifice and faecal contaminated water. The trophozoite is the trophozoite stage and is an active, motile form with a teardrop shape and an abdominal sucker. The encapsulation is the infective stage, with two incompletely separated but formed trophozoites containing flagellar axoneme, abdominal suckers and up to four nuclei.

【Reaction Principle

Giardia Flagellate Antigen Kit is a rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of Giardia Flagellate Antigen in dog and cat faeces. After dropping the diluted sample into the spiking well, if GIA antigen is present in the sample, it will specifically bind to the colloidal gold-labelled recombinant protein, forming a complex that will move together along the chromatographic membrane and be captured by the GIA antibody encapsulated on the membrane, which will show a burgundy line on the detection line (T). If there is no GIA antigen in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. This C line should be coloured regardless of negative or positive results, otherwise the result is judged invalid.

Usage

[Sample Requirements

This kit is only suitable for testing dog and cat faecal samples.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample can not be detected in time, it can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
[Detection method

Before use, you need to return the test card and dilution solution to room temperature and read the instructions of the kit carefully.
Collect fecal samples from dogs and cats with disposable swabs, put them into the dilution solution and mix thoroughly, remove the swabs, tighten the cap, mix upside down and leave for 1 minute.
Tear open the foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card and place it on a flat, clean countertop.
Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μL) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read, results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30°C. If the temperature is lower than 15°C, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30°C, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
