Canine Rotavirus Antigen Kit Product Description
Canine Rotavirus Antigen Test Kit Canine Rotavirus antigen in canine faeces or vomit is used for screening and assisting in the diagnosis of Canine Rotavirus infection.
Canine Rotavirus infection is caused by Canine Rotavirus (CRV), a relatively common acute gastrointestinal infectious disease in dogs, clinically characterised by vomiting, diarrhoea, depression, anorexia and dehydration. Canine rotavirus is a double-stranded ribonucleic acid virus, complete with rounded viral particles and a double capsule. It belongs to the genus Rotavirus in the family of Echoviridae, and is usually host-specific. Canine rotavirus infects dogs of different breeds, genders and ages, with newborn puppies being the main infected group, but adult dogs are usually invisibly infected and lack obvious symptoms. Rotaviruses are found in the intestinal tract of diseased and carrier dogs and are excreted in faeces, contaminating the surrounding environment. It can be transmitted to healthy dogs and other susceptible animals by direct and indirect contact through the respiratory and digestive tracts.
Reaction Principle】
The Canine Rotavirus Antigen Test Kit is a rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of Canine Rotavirus antigen in canine faeces or vomitus. After dropping the diluted sample into the spiking well, if CRV antigen is present in the sample, it will bind specifically to the colloidal gold-labelled recombinant protein, forming a complex that will move together along the chromatographic membrane and be captured by the CRV antibody encapsulated on the membrane, which will be displayed as a burgundy line on the detection line (T). If there is no CRV antigen in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. This C line should be coloured regardless of negative or positive results, otherwise the result is judged invalid.
How to use Canine Rotavirus Antigen Detection Kit
[Sample Requirements
This kit is only suitable for testing canine faeces or vomit samples.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample cannot be tested in time, it can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
Detection method】
Before use, you need to return the test card and dilution solution to room temperature and read the instructions of the kit carefully.
Collect a sample of dog faeces or vomit with a disposable cotton swab, put it into the dilution solution and mix thoroughly, remove the swab, tighten the cap, mix upside down and let it stand for 1 minute.
Tear open the foil pouch of the test card, remove the test card and place it on a flat, clean countertop.
Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μL) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read, results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30°C. If the temperature is lower than 15°C, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30°C, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
Limitations of the test method]
This kit can only detect the presence of Canine Rotavirus antigen in the sample being tested.
Negative results may be due to the concentration of antigen being lower than the detection sensitivity of the product.
The results of this kit are for clinical reference only, not as a basis for diagnosis, should be combined with clinical symptoms or other routine testing methods to confirm the diagnosis.
Note
The reagents provided in this product are for this test only, please read the instructions carefully before the test.
Expired, broken or contaminated aluminium foil pouch should not be used.
The product should be restored to room temperature before use and used within 1 hour after opening to avoid moisture.
Avoid contact with the spiking hole on the test card and the chromatographic membrane at the test window during use of the product.
The samples tested may be potentially infectious and the waste after the test should be regarded as contaminants and disposed of properly in accordance with relevant local regulations.
