Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen Test Product Description

Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen Test is designed to detect Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen in feces or vomit of cats, and is used for screening and auxiliary diagnosis of Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is an immune-mediated disease caused by infection with feline coronaviruses, which are enveloped positive-stranded RNA viruses characterized by protruding rod-like projections from their surfaces and unusually large viral RNA genomes.FCoVs have a very high infectivity rate and can cause chronic, progressive, and fatal infections in cats. and lethal infectious disease in cats. Feline transmissible abdomen is not inherently contagious and is caused by mutation of the coronavirus in the cat. Cats carrying the virus will excrete the virus in their feces and vomit, and infect or transmit it to healthy cats through the mouth and nose.FIPV has two serotypes, Type I and Type II, with the Type I strain being more common in Europe and the United States, and the Type II strain being more prevalent in Asia.
Principle of reaction

Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen Test Kit is a rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen in cat feces or vomit. After the diluted sample is dropped into the spiking well, if FIP antigen is present in the sample, it will specifically bind to the colloidal gold-labeled recombinant protein, forming a complex that moves along the chromatographic membrane and is captured by the FIP antibody encapsulated on the membrane, displaying a burgundy line on the detection line (T). If there is no FIP antigen in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. This C line should be colored regardless of whether the result is negative or positive, otherwise the result is considered invalid.

How to use Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen Detection Kit

【Sample requirements

This kit is only suitable for testing cat feces and vomit samples.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample can not be detected in time, it can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
[Detection method

Before use, you need to return the test card and dilution solution to room temperature and read the instructions of the kit carefully.
Collect cat feces or vomit samples with disposable swabs, put them into the dilution solution and mix thoroughly, remove the swabs, tighten the cap, mix upside down and leave for 1 minute.
Tear open the aluminum foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card and put it on a flat, clean countertop.
Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μL) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read; results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30℃, if the temperature is lower than 15℃, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.

[Limitations of the test method

This kit can only detect the presence of Feline Infectious Peritonitis antigen in the sample being tested.
Due to the limitations of detection sensitivity, negative results may be due to the antigen concentration is lower than the detection sensitivity of the product.
The results of this kit are for clinical reference only, not as a basis for diagnosis, should be combined with clinical symptoms or other routine testing methods to confirm the diagnosis.
Note

The reagents provided in this product are for this test only, please read the instructions carefully before the test.
Expired, broken or contaminated aluminum foil pouch should not be used.
The product should be restored to room temperature before use and used within 1 hour after opening to avoid moisture.
Avoid contact with the spiking hole on the test card and the chromatographic membrane at the test window during use of the product.
The samples tested may be potentially infectious and the waste after the test should be regarded as contaminants and disposed of properly in accordance with relevant local regulations.
