Canine and Feline Early Pregnancy Test Kit Product Description
Canine and feline early pregnancy test kit is used to detect the level of relaxin in whole blood or serum of canine and feline, for screening and auxiliary diagnosis of early pregnancy in canine and feline. Relaxin is a peptide hormone synthesised and secreted by the corpus luteum and the placenta during pregnancy, which gradually increases with the growth of the gestation period and rapidly decreases after delivery, and is a marker of early pregnancy in dogs and cats. Relaxin is a water-soluble polypeptide hormone consisting of two polypeptide chains linked by a disulfide bond, which can participate in the depolymerisation of mucopolysaccharides sulphate in vivo, and thus has a role in follicular development and ovulation, mammary gland growth during pregnancy, foetal attachment, and initiation of labour. Because relaxin is highly variable in individual dogs and cats, early testing may result in negative results when serum relaxin is too low. If the test result is negative, it is recommended to repeat the test after 1 week.
[Reaction Principle
Canine and Feline Early Pregnancy Test Kit uses rapid immunochromatographic technique to detect the level of relaxin in whole blood or serum of canine and feline. After dropping the diluted sample into the spiking well, if RLN is present in the sample, it will specifically bind to the colloidal gold-labelled recombinant protein, forming a complex that moves together along the chromatographic membrane and is captured by the antibody encapsulated on the membrane, displaying a burgundy red line on the detection line (T). If there is no RLN in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. This C line should be coloured regardless of negative or positive results, otherwise the result is judged invalid.
How to use Early Pregnancy Test Kit for Dogs and Cats
[Sample Requirements
This kit is only suitable for testing whole blood or serum samples from dogs and cats.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample can not be tested in time, it can be stored for 24 hours at 2-8℃ and 1 month at -20℃.
[Detection method
Before use, the test card and dilution solution should be restored to room temperature and the instructions of the kit should be read carefully.
Use whole blood samples from dogs and cats, and let it stand for 30 minutes to precipitate or centrifuge to separate the serum for spare.
Tear open the foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card and place it on a flat, clean countertop.
Using a pipette, add 2 drops of whole blood or serum to the sample well, then add 1 drop of diluent, start the timer and wait for the results.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read; results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is performed at room temperature 15-30°C. If the temperature is lower than 15°C, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30°C, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
Precautions]
The reagents provided with this product are for this test only, please read the instructions carefully before the test.
Expired, broken or contaminated aluminium foil pouch should not be used.
The product should be restored to room temperature before use and used within 1 hour after opening to avoid moisture.
Avoid contact with the spiking hole on the test card and the chromatographic membrane at the test window during use of the product.
The samples tested may be potentially infectious and the waste after the test should be regarded as contaminants and disposed of properly in accordance with relevant local regulations.
