The CHG skin preparation cotton swab applicator is mainly used for skin disinfection in medical scenarios, and its specific applications are as follows:

• Preoperative Skin Disinfection: This is its main application scenario. Before various surgical operations, such as appendectomy and cholecystectomy in general surgery, orthopedic surgeries, neurosurgical operations, etc., medical staff will use this applicator to disinfect the skin around the surgical incision. The disinfection range is generally determined according to the type of surgery and the size of the incision, usually including the skin area at least 15 to 20 centimeters around the incision. For example, before a cesarean section, the abdominal surgical area of the parturient will be smeared and disinfected to effectively kill the bacteria that may exist on the skin surface, laying the foundation for the smooth progress of the surgery and postoperative recovery.
• Disinfection of Puncture Sites: Before various puncture operations such as intravenous puncture, arterial puncture, and lumbar puncture, the skin at the puncture site needs to be disinfected.
