Common medical sample collection tools include

  1. Swabs:

  3. Containers:
    • Blood – collection tubes: Used to store blood samples. There are different types such as ordinary blood – collection tubes, anticoagulant blood – collection tubes, and coagulant – promoting blood – collection tubes, which are respectively applicable to different blood – testing projects.
    • Urine – collection containers: Including urine – collection cups and urine – collection tubes, used to collect patients’ urine samples for routine urine tests and urine biochemistry tests.
    • Fecal – collection containers: Specifically used for collecting fecal samples for routine fecal tests and fecal occult blood tests.
    • Sputum – collection containers: Used to collect patients’ sputum samples for routine sputum tests and sputum bacterial culture tests.
  4. Other tools:
    • Tourniquets: Used to temporarily block venous blood flow when collecting blood samples, so that blood vessels are filled and blood can be more easily collected.
    • Disinfectants: Such as alcohol cotton balls and iodophor, used to disinfect blood – collection sites or other sites where samples need to be collected to prevent infection.
    • Microscopes: Although not directly used for sample collection, they can be used to observe cells, bacteria and other microorganisms in samples after sample collection, which is of great importance for disease diagnosis and research.
