Feline Infectious Peritonitis Antigen Test Kit Product Description

Feline herpesvirus antigen test kit is used to detect feline herpesvirus antigen in feline ocular and nasal secretions, for screening and auxiliary diagnosis of feline herpesvirus infection.
Feline herpesvirus (FHV) belongs to the Herpesviridae family, a member of the subfamily of herpesvirus A. It is a virus that can cause upper respiratory tract infections in cats, and the virus is highly infectious. Feline herpesviruses have glycoprotein-lipid enveloped double-stranded DNA, proliferate in the nucleus, have a short replication cycle, spread rapidly from cell to cell, and are capable of forming intranuclear inclusion bodies.FHV is highly species-specific, does not cross-infect between species, and is one of the most common infectious diseases in cats. Symptoms of herpesvirus infection are mainly sneezing, conjunctivitis, heavy eye discharge, runny nose, etc. It mainly infects young cats, with a morbidity rate of 100% and a mortality rate of up to 50%, and no mortality occurs in adult cats.

Reaction Principle

The Feline Herpesvirus Antigen Test Kit is a rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of feline herpesvirus antigen in cat eye and nasal secretions. After dropping the diluted sample into the spiking well, if FHV antigen is present in the sample, it will specifically bind to the colloidal gold-labeled recombinant protein, forming a complex that moves together along the chromatographic membrane and is captured by the FHV antibody encapsulated on the membrane, which will be displayed as a burgundy line on the detection line (T). If there is no FHV antigen in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. Regardless of negative or positive results, this C line should show color, otherwise it is judged as invalid result.
Product Performance Indicators

Sensitivity ≥95
Specificity ≥97.5%
Consistent color development between batches and within batches.
Stability: 2-30℃ unopened for 2 years.

How to use Feline Herpesvirus Antigen Detection Kit

[Sample requirements

This kit is only suitable for testing cat eye and nasal secretion samples.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample can not be detected in time, it can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
[Detection method

Before use, you need to return the test card and dilution solution to room temperature and read the instructions of the kit carefully.
Collect cat feces or vomit samples with disposable swabs, put them into the dilution solution and mix thoroughly, remove the swabs, tighten the cap, mix upside down and leave for 1 minute.
Tear open the aluminum foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card and put it on a flat, clean countertop.
Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μL) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read; results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30℃, if the temperature is lower than 15℃, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
