Rabies Virus Antigen Kit Product Description

Rabies Virus Antigen Kit is used for the detection of rabies virus antigen in the saliva of dogs and cats, which is used for the screening and auxiliary diagnosis of rabies virus infection in dogs and cats.
Rabies is an acute, viral infection of the central nervous system caused by the rabies virus. All warm-blooded animals, including humans, can be infected with rabies virus. Rabies virus belongs to the genus Rabies virus of the family of elastoviridae, the virus particles are composed of two parts: the shell and the core, which is elastic in shape, with a helically symmetrical nucleocapsid, an envelope on the surface, and a single-stranded RNA in the core. dogs and cats do not naturally carry the rabies virus, but after being bitten by a rabies virus-carrying dog or cat, the virus invades into the body of the dog or cat and reproduces abundantly, spreading throughout the body by the bloodstream and the lymphatic network, thus forming a viral infectious disease and possibly infecting humans. The virus will multiply and spread to the whole body through the blood and lymph, resulting in a viral infection and may be transmitted to human beings through saliva. If you are bitten or scratched by dogs and cats, you should receive rabies vaccination as soon as possible to prevent the virus from replicating in the human body in the first place.

[Reaction Principle

The Rabies Virus Antigen Kit uses rapid immunochromatography to detect rabies virus antigen in dog and cat saliva. After dropping the diluted sample into the spiking well, if RBV antigen is present in the sample, it will specifically bind to the colloidal gold-labeled recombinant protein, forming a complex that moves together along the chromatographic membrane and is captured by the RBV antibody encapsulated on the membrane, displaying a burgundy red line on the detection line (T). If there is no RBV antigen in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. Regardless of negative or positive results, this C line should show color, otherwise it is judged as invalid result.

How to use the rabies virus antigen detection kit

[Sample Requirements

This kit is only suitable for testing dog and cat saliva samples.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample can not be detected in time, it can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
[Detection method

Before use, it is necessary to return the test card and dilution solution to room temperature and read the instructions of the kit carefully.
Collect saliva samples from dogs and cats with disposable cotton swabs, put them into the dilution solution and mix thoroughly, remove the swabs, tighten the cap, mix upside down and let it stand for 1 minute.
Tear open the aluminum foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card and put it on a flat, clean countertop.
Pipette 3 drops (approx. 80 μL) of the diluted sample into the spiked hole of the test card and wait for the result.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read; test results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is carried out at room temperature 15-30℃, if the temperature is lower than 15℃, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
