Lyme spirochete antibody reagent detects Lyme disease antibody in whole blood, serum or plasma of dogs and cats, and is used for screening and auxiliary diagnosis of Lyme disease infection in dogs and cats.
Lyme disease in dogs and cats is a multi-systemic disease caused by Borrelia burgdorferi spirochete, which is a tick-borne zoonosis of natural origin, and is associated with polyarthritis in dogs and cats. Burkholderia spirochete belongs to the prokaryotic spirochete order Spirochete family Spirochete genus, is a single-cell loose coiled left spiral, its cell structure by the surface layer, outer membrane, flagellum and protoplasmic column of the four parts. The genome of Spirochaetes Burkholderiae consists of a linear chromosome and multiple circular and linear plasmids, which is smaller than that of Spirochaetes syphilis and Leptospira, and belongs to the genus Bacteria with a small genome. Spirochete burkholderi has a wide host range, with natural hosts including humans, dogs and cats, and a variety of small rodents, and transmits the pathogen primarily through the bite of an infected tick. Once in the bloodstream, the bacteria spread to different parts of the body and cause problems in specific organs or locations (e.g. joints) as well as overall disease.

Reaction Principle】

Lyme spirochete antibody test kit adopts rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of Lyme disease antibody in whole blood, serum or plasma of dogs and cats. After the diluted sample is dropped into the spiked well, if LYM antibody is present in the sample, it will bind specifically to the colloidal gold labeled recombinant protein, forming a complex that moves together along the chromatographic membrane and is captured by the LYM antigen encapsulated on the membrane, displaying a burgundy line on the detection line (T). If there is no LYM antibody in the sample, no visible line will form at the T position. This C line should be colored regardless of negative or positive results, otherwise the result is judged invalid.

How to use Lyme spirochete antibody test kit

[Sample Requirements

This kit is only suitable for testing whole blood, serum or plasma samples from dogs and cats.
The test sample is collected fresh and put into the dilution solution immediately, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If the sample can not be tested in time, it can be stored at 2-8℃ for 24 hours and -20℃ for 1 month.
[Detection method

Before use, it is necessary to return the test card and dilution solution to room temperature and read the instructions of the kit carefully.
Use whole blood samples of dogs and cats, and let it stand for 30 minutes to analyze or separate serum and plasma by centrifugation for spare.
Tear open the foil pouch of the test card, take out the test card, and place it on a flat, clean countertop.
Using a pipette, add 2 drops of whole blood or serum to the sample well, then add 1 drop of diluent to start the timer and wait for results.
Wait 10-15 minutes at room temperature for the test result to be read; results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Note: The reading time is performed at room temperature 15-30°C. If the temperature is lower than 15°C, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30°C, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
