Oropharyngeal flock swabs

Oropharyngeal flock swabs have the following specific applications:
Nucleic acid testing: Used for mass nucleic acid screening in situations such as new crown outbreaks, where samples of oropharyngeal secretions are collected.
Disease diagnosis: to help doctors obtain samples from the oropharynx for disease diagnosis and detection.
Pathogen detection: can be used to detect various pathogens in the oropharynx, such as bacteria and viruses.

Oropharyngeal flocked swabs typically have the following material and construction features:
Material:
Sampling head: flocked with nylon fibre, a material that provides better adsorption and release of the sample.
Swab stem: usually made of plastic or polypropylene.
Structure:
Head: flocked sampling head to increase sample collection efficiency and release efficiency.
Rod: Slim rod for easy handling.

Method of use:
With the subject’s head tilted slightly, open the mouth and make an ‘ah’ sound to expose the pharyngeal tonsils on both sides.
Pass the swab over the base of the tongue and rub it back and forth slightly over both pharyngeal tonsils at least 3 times, then up and down the posterior pharyngeal wall at least 3 times.
Remove the swab slowly and place it in the sampling tube.
Caution:
The procedure should be gentle to avoid causing discomfort to the sampled person.
Strictly follow the protocol to ensure the accuracy of sampling.
Avoid contamination of the swab and seal the sampling tube promptly after sampling.
Pay attention to personal protection to avoid cross-infection.
