Cleaning Verification TOC Swabs
The TOC Cleaning Validation Kit simplifies sampling as a cleaning validation programme. This uses a proprietary process to further clean swabs and vials. These kits are suitable for total organic carbon (TOC) analysis. Batch number traceability and quality control.
Scope of Application
TOC analysis as part of a cleaning validation protocol
As part of other cleaning validation protocols
Non-organic liquid sampling surveys of contaminated sources
Biopharmaceutical clean validation sampling
Total Organic Carbon Sampling
What are the advantages of cleaning verification swabs?
1、Matching independent combination packaging:
It is a convenient, safe and organised method of transportation
Swabs and vials from the storage area to the sampling point and then to the laboratory, the possibility of contamination is very small;
2、TOC cleaning verification swabs
TOC content <50 µg/L, <50 ppb, safeguarding the swab itself from interfering with test data;
Double, double knitted polyester head for entrapment of contaminants; knitted construction during the sampling process. This is to maximise sample collection and release into the diluent to provide excellent recoveries;
Separate handle with notch for placing head into vials for minimal handling and sampling;
100% polypropylene handles to ensure no other contaminants and excellent chemical resistance.
3、Sample vials
Total Organic Carbon content (<10µg/L, <10 ppb), ensuring that the swab itself does not interfere with the test data;
Pre-washed borosilicate glass bottles have an integral cap and septum designed for easy sampling and analysis.
Diaphragm thickness – 1.34 mm (0.053″)
◎ Polyethylene overlay protects the septum surface from pre-analysis contamination.
◎Sloped shoulder design reduces swab tip area and reduces TOC.
◎TOC instrument manufacturer approved for use.
- Labelling
Cleanroom is suitable for identification and traceability of vial samples.
- Containers/Boxes
Double bagged and packed in cleanroom compatible polypropylene boxes.
Cleaning Verification Swab Kit Test Procedure
Verify that the equipment is clean and that the operator is dressed appropriately for testing (clean gloves, mask, gown, hairnet, clean environment).
Take a ‘clean’ Low TOC swab in the Certified Low TOC vial.
Fill the vial with 40 ml of ultra-pure Low TOC water and seal.
Vortex the vial for 15 seconds.
Fill another certified low TOC vial with 40 ml of ultrapure, low TOC water and seal. This will be used as a ‘blank control’.
Run a TOC test through the ‘control blank’ dosing vial and water level of the instrument. The unit of measurement should be μg/L.
Pass the vial with the swab inside through the TOC test device. Measurement should be in μg/L.
Subtract the ‘control blank’ from the swab vial to get the final measurement. All measurements should be in μg/L. Our goal is less than 50 μg/L.
Instructions for Use:
Consult your written SOP sampling instructions.
Dip the swab into the solution.
Sample area.
Remove the sample vial cap.
Place the swab to snap the swab head into the vial with the notch touching the top of the vial. Avoid touching the swab head.
Close cap.
Label the sample.
