SMA Test Saliva Collector – Spinal Muscular Atrophy SMA Saliva Collection
SMA Test Saliva Collector
This product is suitable for collecting DNA samples for testing such as hereditary disease screening, genomic testing and disease detection to aid sample preservation and transport. It is a non-invasive sample collection, safe and convenient to operate, while the saliva sample has no contact with the experimenter and no contamination, and can be directly automated, without the need for secondary transfer of samples.
Product Overview:
Saliva collection is the simplest way of gene collection, the advantage is painless and non-invasive, compared with blood collection, saliva collection is more convenient and free, and the user’s acceptance is also higher.
This product consists of a saliva collector (sampling funnel + sample collection tube), sample collection tube cap, and DNA preservation solution tube.
Saliva collection assembly is used to collect, preserve and transport DNA from saliva samples in a room temperature environment
The preservation solution can preserve saliva DNA for 12 months at room temperature and is suitable for a wide range of DNA extraction and purification kits.
The user-friendly design of the collection funnel conforms to the shape of the human mouth, making the collection process simple and easy. The cap of the tube has an anti-leakage gasket inside, sealing and preventing leakage.
Clean room production, no DNA enzyme, no RNA enzyme, no heat source
Sterilisation: Gamma irradiation sterilisation
Shelf life: 12 months
How to use the saliva collector:
Relax the cheeks and gently rub them for thirty seconds to produce saliva;
Gently spit approximately 2ml of saliva into the saliva collection funnel;
Care should be taken to avoid excessive foaming when collecting saliva (the upper layer of foam is not counted);
Open the DNA preservation solution tube and unscrew the cap;
Pour the DNA preservation liquid into the saliva collector, confirming that the stratified interface between the liquid and the upper layer of foam in the sample collection reaches the scale shown in 4 ml;
Unscrew the collection funnel from the spiral opening of the saliva collector and remove the funnel (remember to dispose of waste after use to avoid contact and contamination);
Take the cap and screw it onto the sample collection tube, mix the liquid in the tube by turning it up and down so that the DNA preservation solution is well mixed with the saliva sample to complete the sample collection.
Precautions for using the saliva collector:
Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew gum for 30 minutes before collecting a saliva sample.
Normally it only takes 2 to 5 minutes to collect a saliva sample following the steps above.
Before starting saliva collection, relax your cheeks and gently massage your cheeks with your fingers for 15-30 seconds to produce saliva.
Make sure the outer packaging of the saliva sample collection tube is intact and check the saliva preservation fluid tube to make sure there is no leakage. IMPORTANT: Saliva collection tubes that are leaking or have cloudy preservation solution should not be used!
Saliva samples collected with this product can be stored stably for 12 months at room temperature, during which time high quality, high molecular weight DNA fragments can be isolated. Due to the individual differences in the samples, the specific shelf life of different samples may fluctuate.
